缅因大学(The University of Maine，全称The University of Maine at Orono)是美国缅因州最大的大学。它于1862年成立。 缅因大学一共有11万多个学生。 缅因大学的短名是"UMaine"或者"UMO". 它在欧洛诺市(Orono), 离班哥尔市(Bangor)不太远。 缅因大学的佛格拉图书馆(Fogler Library)是缅因州最大的， 一共有一百万多本书， 也有一些中文杂志。
1、学校简介
该校有人类学博物馆。民族学及口述历史博馆，美术馆，天文台，社会科学研究中心，水陆研究中心，实验农场，海洋研究中心。体育场馆与设施齐全。
该校曾经有419位外国留学生，占当时学生总数的3.3%。缅因大学对高中毕业生的录取率比较高，达80%。女生占全校学生的53%。
在1862年联邦议会决定“赠地办学法案”后，缅因州受此影响，于1865年决定办“缅因农业与技工学院”。 1868年9月21日开学。当时只有2位老师，12位学生，1871年学校开设了农业、土木工程机械工程3个专业。1872年首次招收女生。1881年开始授予硕士学位。1897年改名为“缅因大学”1923年成立研究生院，1930年成立教育学院，1958年成立商学院(即企业管理这院)。

本科生中有6875人是全日制学习，有1636人是兼职学习。后者占总数的19.2%。本科生中的族裔分布如下：白人占93%印第安学生和留学生各占2%，亚裔、非裔、和西裔学生各占1%缅因州在美国的东北角上，离欧洲最近，而离亚洲及拉丁美洲最远，所以白人这生比例特高，而亚裔、西裔和非洲裔学生特少。
本科生中有86%是本洲人，只有12%是外州人，另有2%是外国人。有45%和大学生寄宿在学校，大部分人在校外自找食宿。这所大学没有兄弟会和姐妹组织，当然也没有学生参加。
